Description

La colección de anfibios y reptiles, se crea en los años 70 con las expediciones que investigadores del centro realizan a Sudamérica, Norte y Noroeste y Oestede África y la península ibérica. Hoy en día los ejemplares proceden de los CREAS, particulares y decomisos. La colección es importante tanto desde el punto de vista cuantitativo como cualitativo. Existe una buena representación tanto taxonómica, geográfica como temporal. Esto, junto a su buen estado de conservación y la buena dotación de datos de los ejemplares es lo que le valor frente a otras en España e incluso en el mundo.

Puntos fuertes

Biometrías, identificación taxonómica, diferencias entre especies. En los inicios los ejemplares fueron conservados en formol lo que impide su utilización para estudios genéticos.
